Call on Oil Firms in Kurdistan to Resume Output

A meeting chaired by Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi has focused on reassuring foreign oil companies operating in the Kurdistan Region and providing them with a safe working environment, according to the Ministry of Oil's media and government communications office.

The meeting was attended by a Kurdistan Region delegation, representatives of international oil companies operating in the region, and directors-general of the relevant oil formations. Oil Minister Basim Mohammed Khedhr al-Abadi said the aim was to encourage companies to begin immediate production and exports.

The minister noted that discussions centred on obstacles facing the companies, and that the prime minister undertook to task the relevant authorities with studying these issues and finding appropriate solutions.
