Belarus Calls for Holding Joint Economic Committee Meeting with Iran

The Ambassador of Belarus in Iran Dmitry Koltsov has emphasized the need for holding the Iran-Belarus Joint Economic Committee meeting with the presence of the Industry and Trade Ministers of the two countries.

“Holding the joint committee plays an important role in the organization of trade between Iran and Belarus,” Koltsov said in a meeting with the Head of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) Mohammad-Ali Dehghan Dehnavi.

In this meeting, he described the relationship between the TPO and the embassy of Belarus as friendly and added: “Efforts have been made to make this relationship revolve around the development of trade relations.”

The envoy welcomed the proposal to establish communication between the chambers of commerce of the two countries and considered it an important step in the development of economic cooperation between the two sides. Dehghan Dehnavi for his part pointed to the establishment of the joint committee between Iran and Belarus as a suitable tool for the development of cooperation between the two countries and added: “Our goal of establishing the joint committee goes beyond protocols and we actually want to see concrete and positive results in the development of foreign trade.”

He emphasized the presence and establishment of communication between representatives of the private sector and business delegations of the two countries on the sidelines of the Joint Economic Committee meeting. Dehghan Dehnavi further announced Iran’s willingness to establish a trade center in Belarus. He presented the idea of joint production between Iran and Belarus and said: “It seems that it is possible to define joint production projects between Iran and Belarus and supply the products to other export markets.” – Tehran Times
