Libyan Refinery Reopens After Maintenance Completed

Libya's National Oil Corporation has reopened its Brega refinery, one of the oldest in the country, after closure for maintenance, it said on Sunday.

The refinery has capacity of 10,000 barrels per day but has suffered from recurring technical issues because of its age, a report by the Libyan audit bureau said in June.

* A natural gas processing unit at the Brega plant has been restarted, allowing 60 million cubic feet of gas to be transferred into the system instead of being flared, the NOC said.

* The NOC also announced the resumption of two Sirte Oil Company methanol plants that had been shut down for maintenance.
