South Korean companies have proposed cooperating on crude oil refining in Libya to help meet local demand for gasoline and diesel. The proposal also includes exploring the possibility of allocating part of Libya’s crude oil production for future export to South Korea, according to Indonesia’s SuaraGarut news site.The proposal was discussed during the Libyan-Korean Economic Cooperation Forum, held in Tripoli on September 28, 2026, with the participation of government officials, business leaders, and representatives of major South Korean companies, including LG, Samsung, and Hyundai.
