The Ministry of Economy and Trade of the Government of National Unity has approved 52 decisions concerning branches of foreign companies and representative offices operating in Libya.

The decisions include approvals for opening new branches, extending and renewing existing branches, opening and extending representative offices, and adopting regulatory amendments in accordance with existing legislation.

The ministry said the measures are part of efforts to improve the business environment, support investment and regulate the activities of foreign companies and representative offices in Libya.

The decisions cover companies and institutions from several countries, including Türkiye, Egypt, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, China, Tunisia, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates.

The companies operate across a wide range of sectors, including oil and gas services, drilling and oilfield services, contracting, construction, engineering and infrastructure.

Other sectors include aviation, transportation and logistics, technical consultancy, water treatment and environmental solutions, as well as industry, trade, investment, technology and other specialized services.

The ministry said the decisions aim to regulate foreign companies and representative offices within the established legal framework, enhance transparency, facilitate the transfer of expertise and modern technologies, and expand opportunities for economic and investment cooperation.

It added that the measures are part of its efforts to improve Libya’s business climate, attract investment and strengthen economic partnerships in support of national development and the economy.
