Iraqi Consul General Urges Border Trade Boost with Iran

Iraq's consul general in Kermanshah met with the governor of Ilam Province to discuss ways to expand border cooperation and trade between the border provinces of the two neighboring countries.

During the meeting with Governor Ahmad Karami, Saadoun al-Saedi emphasized the pivotal role of the economy in global equations, stating that today, the economy plays a role even beyond military power.

The current situation presents the best opportunity to strengthen domestic and regional economic foundations through the revitalization of border cooperation and joint commercial exchanges, the Iraqi consul general said.

The Iraqi diplomat also praised the resilience of the Iranian nation against US aggression, saying: Through the steadfastness of its people and the use of domestically produced weaponry, Iran neutralized America's entire military power in the region and shifted the regional balance of power. - IRNA
