Oil Flow Measurement System Inaugurated at Libya’s Sidra Oil Terminal

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced yesterday that it had inaugurated a state-of-the-art crude oil flow measurement system at the Sidra oil terminal, operated by Waha Oil Company.

The NOC's said this system represents a significant addition to the efficiency and accuracy of measurement and export operations in the sector, and was developed with the continuous follow-up and direct support of NOC Chairman, Masoud Suleiman.

The modern system consists of two metering skids, each equipped with four ultrasonic flow meters. This ensures the highest levels of accuracy and reliability in calculating exported crude oil quantities, in accordance with international fiscal metering standards.

Each skid is also equipped with an advanced master meter calibration system for continuous verification of meter performance, based on the principle of master meter proving. This enhances operational transparency and the reliability of results during export operations.
