Hattiba Gas Well Brought Online to Boost Libya's Supplies

Sirte Oil and Gas Production and Manufacturing Company has brought a new well at the Hattiba gas field into production, adding about 5 million cubic feet of natural gas a day.

The company said well S-24 had been connected to its gas plant as part of efforts to stabilise supplies and maintain production levels.

Gas output from Hattiba has risen from about 90 million cubic feet a day to 103 million following the connection of two other wells, S-02 and S-28.

The company said the latest project was completed using its own resources and would help meet the needs of the industrial complex and fertiliser plants, as well as other key industrial sectors.

Its chairman also called for further work to connect Hattiba with the Al-Istiqlal field, saying this would improve the efficiency and flexibility of the gas transmission network and support higher production.
