Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced that technical teams at Mellitah Oil & Gas Company have successfully completed maintenance work on the (A-24) well at the Abu Attifel oil field, resulting in a significant increase in production as part of the company’s program to improve well performance and boost output.According to the NOC, the work included replacing well completion equipment and reperforating the producing formations. As a result, oil production increased from 403 to 1,201 barrels per day; an increase of 798 barrels per day, or nearly 198%. Gas production also rose from 3.20 million to 6.42 million standard cubic feet per day, marking an increase of about 101%, according to a statement published on the NOC’s Facebook page on Thursday.The NOC added that flow testing using the same 64/64 choke showed stable well performance, while the associated water cut stood at 7%. Monitoring and evaluation will continue during the well’s stabilization period to ensure optimal production performance.The NOC said the achievement reflects the expertise of Libya’s national workforce and the success of the engineering solutions implemented, supporting its strategic plan to increase production, ensure sustainable energy supplies, and strengthen the oil and gas sector’s contribution to the national economy.The NOC’s Board of Directors also praised the efforts of the national technical teams behind the production increase and reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the evaluation and development of oil wells in the country’s public interest.
