Exports Resumed via Iran's Southern Shores as Blockade Lifted

The first vessels carrying Iranian export goods left for Qatar and the UAE, a senior trade official said Monday, marking the resumption of trade alongside imports as the US naval blockade was lifted.

Sadreddin Niavarani, deputy head of the export commission at the Iran Chamber of Commerce, told state television that exports restarted alongside imports through the southern sea routes, following the lifting of the U.S. naval blockade and the gradual reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

He said the first vessels carrying export goods sailed on Sunday, bound for Qatar and the UAE, which are traditional markets for Iranian products. - Mehr
