14 Road Projects Inaugurated in Iran's Fars, Boosting Southern Transport Corridors

Fourteen road construction projects were inaugurated simultaneously in Iran’s Fars province during the 1979 Revolution celebrations, aiming to accelerate development of southern transport corridors, state media reported.

The projects, launched by Transport and Urban Development Minister Farzaneh Sadegh via videoconference during her visit to the province, include the construction, upgrading and completion of highways and major connecting routes across different parts of Fars.

According to IRNA, the schemes are expected to improve intra-provincial connectivity and strengthen links with neighboring provinces.

Key projects include the second carriageway of the third section of the Jahrom–Lar route, the second carriageway of the Lar–Bandar Abbas road, sections of the Fasa–Sarvestan expressway, upgrades to the Khonj–Qir, Qir–Firouzabad, Marvdasht–Doroudzan and Tang-e Khiyareh–Lapouei roads, as well as construction and completion works on routes linking Sepidan–Eqlid–Yasuj, Kazeroun–Hajiabad junction, Farashband–Kazeroun, Kalakouyeh–Dehkouyeh, and the third section of the Firouzabad–Jam expressway.

Also inaugurated were the second carriageways of the Neyriz–Qatrouyeh and Qaemiyeh–Rahdar junction routes, alongside a section of the Kazeroun–Farashband expressway.

A 10-kilometre stretch of the Kazeroun–Farashband project was completed as a fully operational dual carriageway, improving links between Kazeroun and Firouzabad and enhancing connections to Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Bushehr, Hormozgan and Sistan-Baluchestan provinces, the report said. - Tehran Times
