Iranian Central Oil Fields Company is producing 240 million cubic meters of natural gas per day, with more than 2 million cubic meters coming from recovered flare gas, a company official said. Ali Rezaei, production manager at company, said that gas output in the central regions reached 240 million cubic meters on Wednesday. He said the company is operating at maximum capacity and implementing production plans to help meet part of the country’s gas demand.Rezaei said about 2 million cubic meters of daily production is generated from the collection of flare gas, which is processed and injected into the national gas grid after gas liquids are extracted. He added that about 28 million cubic meters of the total output comes from the re-production of gas stored in underground facilities. He described the collection and use of flare gas as an important step toward improving efficiency, reducing pollution and protecting national resources, adding that optimal use of gas storage field capacity remains a key priority for the company. - Shana
