Sudani Coalition Appears Victorious in Iraq Elections

Incumbent Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani appears to have been victorious in Iraq's parliamentary elections, which were held on Tuesday. Media sources including Reuters and AFP says his Reconstruction and Development coalition emerged as the largest block in the new assembly.

In a statement on X, the Sudani said: Our coalition, "Reconstruction and Development," is first, because we believe that "Iraq comes first". And Iraq will always remain first, through the dedication of its loyal sons and daughters. We extend our deep gratitude to the Iraqi people for their support in the path of work, construction, and achievement.
