Iran's FM Stresses Diplomacy in Addressing Oversees Cultivation

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has outlined Iran’s economic diplomacy to bolster domestic businesses and secure resources, citing new agreements for overseas farming.

Speaking on the ministry’s priorities in Hamedan, western Iran, on Thursday, Araghchi described economic diplomacy as a crucial mechanism for resolving barriers in international trade and investment.

He clarified that the Foreign Ministry’s role is not direct involvement in commerce but rather using political tools to create opportunities for the country’s economic actors.

This, he said, includes opening global pathways, dismantling obstacles, and identifying new markets, noting that a key area of application is addressing national water scarcity.

The Minister added that several African nations and Kazakhstan have expressed readiness to provide land for agricultural projects.

He confirmed the Ministry’s commitment to facilitating connections between Iranian economic enterprises and these partner countries to enable the production of essential agricultural goods abroad. - IRNA
