Iran, Japan Discuss Expanding Environmental Coop. in Oil Sector


Alireza Nojoumi, head of HSE, passive defense, and crisis management at the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), met with the director of the Middle East Department at Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) to explore ways to enhance cooperation on environmental issues.

According to NIOC, both sides highlighted the importance of knowledge exchange, sharing experiences in environmental protection, and planning joint training programs.

The meeting also addressed strategies to strengthen scientific, technical, and educational collaboration between NIOC and the Japan Oil Engineering Company (JOE).

Representatives from Iran’s Foreign Ministry and the Japanese Embassy in Tehran also attended the meeting and underscored the need to maintain dialogue and expand cooperation in HSE and passive defense fields. - Shana
