Iran is among the top gas turbine producing countries in the world, a relevant official said, adding the country is also exporting the turbines’ services to several states.“There are only a handful of countries in the world that have gas turbine technology, and Iran is one of these countries, and with the measures adopted, 100 million euros in foreign exchange savings have been achieved,” said Asqar Hakimi, the managing director of Shahriar Turbine Parts Company.“We have been working with Iraq and Syria for seven years, and we have earned four million euros in foreign exchange for the country,” he added.“At present, we are negotiating with Russia to export technical and engineering services and technology. Negotiations and visits have also been held with Venezuela to provide services,” Hakimi said. “Last year, we renovated and repaired over 16,000 parts, which has saved 100 million euros in foreign exchange,” he underlined.Relevant reports in 2023 said that experts at the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) had also succeeded in designing and manufacturing gas turbine equipment, including special sensors. “We built and installed the sensor for determining the position of the breathing valves and applying it to the Siemens SGT200 model gas turbine control system of the island’s power plant,” said Armin Bahrami, the head of turbine repair unit of Siri island’s Iranian Offshore Oil Company.“One of the important components of gas turbines is the blow off valve which prevents destructive phenomena in gas compressors and plays an important role when starting combustion engines,” he added. “The main advantage of this plan is to speed up the troubleshooting operation while notifying the operator of the bleed valve’s open and closed position,” Bahrami said. - Kayhan
