New Cement & Chemical Investment in Iraqi Muthanna


Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani has launched the commercial operation of the US$200-million Najmat Al-Samawa 2 Cement Plant in Al-Muthanna Province via video conference. With a daily production capacity of 6,000 tons, the plant is part of a wider US$1.171-billion industrial investment package aimed at bolstering Iraq's construction materials sector.

Al-Etihad Cement Plant

Location: Al-Muthanna
Capacity: 6,000 tons/day

Al-Arabi Cement Plant
Location: Al-Muthanna
Capacity: 6,000 tons/day

Al-Khairat Al-Muthanna Cement Plant

Location: Al-Muthanna
Capacity: 6,000 tons/day

Al-Samawa Cement Plant

Location: Al-Muthanna
Capacity: 6,600 tons/day

Caustic Soda and Chemical Production Project

Location: Al-Muthanna
Capacity: 1,200 tons/day of chemical materials

Al-Sudani said Iraq is now self-sufficient in cement production.
