The Minister of Marine Wealth in the Government of National Unity, Adel Sultan, received a Turkish delegation on Monday morning at the Ministry’s headquarters in Tripoli. The delegation was headed by the Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Marine Research Foundation (TUDAV), Bayram Öztürk, accompanied by a faculty member at Istanbul University, Orhun Hisli.According to the Ministry’s statement, the meeting comes within the framework of strengthening cooperation between Libya and Turkey in the field of marine wealth, and as a follow-up to the agreements made during the Turkish ambassador’s visit to the Ministry last February.The meeting was also attended by several members of the Turkish Embassy in Libya, as well as the Director of the Ministry’s International Cooperation Office and the General Director of the Marine Biology Research Center.Minister Sultan welcomed the delegation and hailed Turkey’s active participation in the regional conference on marine biodiversity, which was hosted in Tripoli over the past two days. He noted that this participation reflects the seriousness and interest of the Turkish side in developing bilateral relations in the marine field.During the meeting, both sides agreed to continue coordination between the relevant institutions and to work on drafting a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding covering various areas of cooperation—especially scientific research and marine studies—in a way that serves common interests and supports sustainable development efforts in both countries.
