Iran’s Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad announced he will travel to Iraq in the coming days, highlighting strong bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields, particularly in the oil industry and joint energy projects. Paknejad said the visit comes at the invitation of Iraq’s oil minister and follows previous discussions on expanding collaboration between the two countries. “We hope to finalize agreements and sign memorandums of understanding in the energy sector during this trip,” he said. The minister emphasized the strong ties between Iran and Iraq, especially in oil and joint energy ventures. In March 2025, Paknejad met with Iraq’s Electricity Minister Ziad Ali Fadhel in Tehran, where both sides stressed enhancing cooperation in oil, gas, petrochemicals and electricity. Paknejad has previously underscored Iran’s commitment to expanding international energy relations, particularly with neighboring countries. - Shana
