Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines, and Renewable Energies Mohamed Arkab is embarking on a working visit to the capital, Addis Ababa, in line with the directives of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and following up on the outcomes of his recent visit to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the Algerian ministry said in a statement on Sunday.The minister is accompanied on this visit by a high-level delegation, including the CEO of Sonatrach, Rashid Hachichi; the CEO of Sonelgaz, Mourad Adjal; and senior officials from the ministry and relevant national institutions, the statement said.The minister plans to hold bilateral meetings with several Ethiopian officials, including the Minister of Mines and Petroleum, the Minister of Water and Energy, and the Minister of Trade and Regional Integration, to discuss opportunities for enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of hydrocarbons, energy, mining, and renewable energies, the source said, adding that he will also meet with officials from several Ethiopian companies to explore new prospects for economic and investment partnerships between the two countries.According to the statement, this visit is part of Algeria’s efforts to strengthen its cooperation with African countries, in line with the vision of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to develop strategic partnerships that serve common interests, achieve sustainable development, and promote African integration.
