Illegal Tap on Crude Pipeline in Baghdad Removed

The Iraqi Oil Pipeline Company has successfully removed an illegal tap on a 16-inch crude oil pipeline in the Nahrawan area, east of Baghdad.

Company Director General Ali Abdul Karim al-Moussawi said that technical teams detected the breach, which involved a deliberate puncture connected to valves and a 100-meter plastic pipe for theft purposes. The team swiftly repaired the damage and resumed oil flow without delays.

The Ministry of Oil said it reaffirmed its commitment to monitoring and addressing infrastructure violations, warning that legal action will be taken against offenders to safeguard Iraq's energy security.
