Iraq's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Fuad Hussein, met with Rachid Talbi El Alami, Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives, in Rabat on 6th February 2025 to discuss bilateral relations, economic cooperation, and regional developments.Minister Hussein highlighted Iraq's focus on economic development, investment, and service provision amid security stability, emphasising opportunities in infrastructure and religious tourism, which attracts 8 to 10 million visitors annually. He also welcomed Morocco's decision to reopen its embassy in Baghdad, underscoring its role in strengthening diplomatic ties.The two officials discussed parliamentary cooperation, with Hussein stressing the importance of legislative exchange and dialogue. Speaker El Alami reaffirmed Morocco's commitment to enhancing inter-parliamentary relations and promoting joint coordination on regional and international matters.The meeting reinforced Iraq-Morocco cooperation across governmental, economic, and parliamentary sectors, with both sides agreeing to advance their strategic partnership.
