The 18th Annual Forum of the GPCA commenced on Monday at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center in Muscat. Hosted by Oman’s global integrated energy group OQ, the GPCA Forum was inaugurated under the auspices of H E Dr Ali bin Masoud al Sunaidy, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ).The four-day event brings together ministers, GCC energy leaders, corporate executives, and over 2,600 attendees from 43 countries. As a vital platform for collaboration and innovation in the petrochemicals and chemicals sectors, the forum underscores the region’s commitment to advancing global industry standards.Hosting the GPCA Forum reflects OQ Group’s dedication to driving progress in the petrochemical industry both locally, regionally, and internationally. OQ’s participation highlights its digital transformation journey, reflecting the group’s focus on increasing efficiency and sustainability.On the first day of the forum, attendees were introduced to OQ’s strategic initiatives aimed at achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, including investments in alternative energy, energy intensity reduction programs, and an integrated energy management system.The forum’s discussions will focus on growth, efficiency, and sustainability in the petrochemical sector, with CEOs from leading companies sharing their visions for the next decade.
