Oil Refining Sector to Become Intelligent in Iran

The National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) and the Vice Presidency for Scientific, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy plan to form a joint working group to lead the refining sector towards digital transformation and using intelligent methods.

The decision was made on Wednesday in a meeting between Mohammad Sadegh Azimifar the CEO of the NIORDC and Hosain Afshin the vice president for scientific, technology and knowledge-based economy.

Pushing oil refineries and the fuel supply chain towards the implementation of smart plans and digital transformation, launching a comprehensive monitoring and big data analysis center, as well as the first-time construction plans, were the main issues the two sides agreed upon in the meeting.

The two sides also agreed to form a joint working group to follow up the agreements and make them operational. - Shana
