The Iraqi Prime Minister's Advisor for Transport, Nasser Al-Asadi, has announced the completion of route designs for the Baghdad Metro project, estimated to cost US$18 billion.Speaking to the state-run Iraqi News Agency (INA), Al-Asadi highlighted the project's scale, noting collaboration with Baghdad Municipality to finalize financial arrangements with investors.The project consists of seven lines, covering extensive areas of Baghdad. The longest line will span 37 kilometers, while the shortest will be 9 kilometers, with potential for expansion in the future.The government consultant is now finalizing specifications for lines, trains, and stations, with only administrative steps remaining before breaking ground.
