Handwoven Carpet Exports in 4 Months Announced by Iranian Official

The head of the Iran National Carpet and Creative Industries Center said the country exported US$13 million of handwoven carpets in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2024).

The country’s export of handwoven carpets between March 21 and July 22, 2024, registered a 6% growth compared to last year’s corresponding period, Mohammadreza Zare Borzeshi said.

He added that 1,350,000 square meters of handwoven carpets were produced in the country in the four months, showing a 6% up compared to the same period last year.

Turning to the growing trend of production of handwoven carpets in the past three years, the official pointed out that carpet production in the country indicated an 11% growth in the previous Iranian calendar year (ended March 20, 2024) compared to a year earlier.
