Libyan Minister of Tourism Milad Al-Fezzani confirmed that Libya started to recover and would be a promising destination for cultural tourism.On the sidelines of the 12th session of the Conference of Tourism Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Khiva in Uzbekistan, Al-Fezzani pointed out that there were many security and health crises occurring all over the world, such as the Corona pandemic that paralyzed economic activity in the world, and what happened in Libya is a security and political crisis"But today the crisis has subsided, and Libya is on the path to recovery during the presence of the Government of National Unity and its adoption of many projects to restore life in all areas." He remarked.He said there was a tourist demand for Libya and clear indicators of recovery, as Libya hosted many sessions in the General Assembly meetings, as well as many organizations in the city of Tripoli and other cities, even in Benghazi."There is no doubt that climate change has affected the whole world, and Storm Daniel hit the eastern region of Libya, especially the city of Derna, and the dam exploded. The storm also had negative effects on Derna and its old city, but we must point out here that there was no impact on the city of Shahat or other ancient cities." He added.He said "The city of Derna is recovering and witnessing a very large reconstruction process, in light of the presence of the Government of National Unity and its adoption of the reconstruction of this city." "Today, Libya is rich in many elements that allow it to be a competitive tourist destination for the countries of the region, including the desert, lakes, geological parks and oases, as well as the great diversity in cultural heritage and traditional industries." He added.
