Iraq's Deputy Prime Minister for Energy and Minister of Oil, Mr. Hayan Abdul Ghani, has opened a new road in the Abu Sakhir area and a high school in the Al-Zubair district of Basra Province.The inauguration ceremony took place on Thursday and was attended by the Deputy Minister for Extraction Affairs, the General Manager of Basra Oil Company (BOC), and several officials from national and international oil companies, as well as local government representatives.Key Projects Inaugurated:New Road in Abu Sakhir: The newly constructed road, measuring 4.6 kilometers in length, was financed by BP, the main contractor for the Rumaila oil field. This project aims to facilitate the movement and improve the quality of life for residents in areas close to the oil fields and projects.Al-Murabit Central High School for Girls in Al-Zubair: The high school, funded by Eni, the main contractor for the Zubair oil field, features 22 classrooms, along with modern laboratories, educational facilities, sports fields, and other amenities.The ministry intends to continue its support for service projects, ensuring that the benefits of the oil sector extend to the local communities. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to foster better relations and provide tangible benefits to residents living near oil operations.
