European Commission Keeps Libyan Airliners Blacklisted

The European Commission has kept its decision to ban Libyan airliners from operating within European airports, as they remain on the European Union’s blacklist, according to the French website “Africa Intelligence.”

This decision comes as a continuation of the action taken by the Commission in December 2014, when it banned the passage of aircraft belonging to Libyan airliners in the airspace of member states due to concerns related to air safety controls in Libya, which have been witnessing recurring security tensions.

The European Union blacklist includes seven Libyan airliners, including Libyan Airlines, Afriqiyah Airways, and Libya Air, as they are not allowed to operate flights to or from EU member states.
