UNWTO Reports Foreign Tourists Visit to Iran in Q1

United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has reported that some 1.4 million foreign tourists visited Iran in the first three months of 2024, registering a 60% growth compared to last year’s corresponding period.

The international tourism body in its latest report revealed the continuation of the ascending trend of arrival of foreign tourists in Iran in 2024.

According to the statistics, Iran experienced a considerable 43% growth in attraction of foreign tourists in 2023.

The country witnessed a significant 60% growth in the arrival of foreign tourists from January to March 2024 compared to the same period last year. Some 1.398 million foreign tourists visited Iran in the first three months of 2024.

Accordingly, 872,000 foreign tourists visited Iran in the first three months of 2023 (January to March). Some 495,000, 506,000 and 397,000 foreign tourists visited Iran in January, February and March 2024 respectively. - Kayhan
