Libya, Italy Boost Joint Efforts Against Money Laundering, Terror Financing


Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), Sedek Elkaber, discussed cooperation with Italian Ambassador Gianluca Alberini in combating money laundering, terrorism financing, and related risks.

Elkaber welcomed the Italian Ambassador on Sunday at his office, along with the economic advisor of the embassy and a representative of the Italian Financial Police.

The meeting, attended by CBL directors of the Libyan financial information and compliance units, discussed leveraging Italian expertise to support the bank's capacities in cooperation with the Italian Financial Police Academy.
