The Iranian ambassador to Kuwait and the Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Mohammad Othman Al-Eyban held talks over expanding the bilateral relations between the two countries.

Mohammad Toutounchi and Mohammad Othman Al-Eyban discussed the cooperation between the two neighboring and Muslim countries on Sunday.

In the meeting, Toutounchi termed the establishment of a joint trade committee, expansion of trade cooperation, provision of customs and port facilities to Iranian barge owners, and establishment of trade exchanges through land as the most important levers for the development of economic diplomacy between the two countries.

Kuwaiti minister for his part said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is an important actor in the region, adding that the potential of the two countries' neighborhood should be activated more than before.

Al-Eyban added that food security is important for Kuwait and this country needs high-quality Iranian products, and expressed hope to see an increase in the amount of trade between the two countries. - Mehr
