Oil Wells in Libyan Oil Field Restored to Work after 10-Year Closure

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced that technical teams of Sirte Oil and Gas Company succeeded in achieving high and unprecedented results for one of the closed wells in the Zelten field after Libyan engineers were able to complete the maintenance process of the C258H-6 well using the Workover Rig maintenance platform.

NOC revealed that the well’s productivity totaled 3,326 barrels of crude oil per day, 100% without any accompanying water, according to tests. NOC also reported that this well had been closed since April 2013 due to weak production and accompanying large quantities of water, as it reached more than 97% of the Zelten layer, which was isolated after maintenance.
