Kuwait Airways Names Acting CEO

State-owned carrier Kuwait Airways has appointed its former chief executive officer, Ahmed Alkreebani, as acting CEO, the company announced on its account on X, formerly known as Twitter, late on Tuesday. Reuters reported earlier this week that Alkreebani's predecessor Maen Razouqi had submitted his resignation as CEO.

Alkreebani returns to the top job after he resigned about a decade ago following a controversy related to a deal to purchase used Airbus aircraft from India's Jet Airways. Kuwait Airways, which posted a net loss of 55 million dinars (US$178.16 million) in 2022, faces possible delays of up to 12 months to receive some Airbus aircraft, Razouqi told Reuters in August, but aims to achieve profitability in 2025.
