Iran, Qatar Can Become Region’s Gas Hub: 1st VP

Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber on Monday said energy cooperation between Iran and Qatar can turn the two countries into gas hubs in the region.

The top official made the remarks in his meeting with Qatar’s Minister of Labor Ali bin Samih al-Marri, adding Tehran-Doha economic transactions in the past years have not been commensurate with their high-level political relations and the two sides need to boost their ties.

Mokhber voiced Iran’s readiness to export technical and engineering services, meet the needs of Qatar’s agricultural sector, and enter into joint ventures.

The visiting labor minister expressed his gratitude to Iran for supporting Qatar in international meetings and assemblies, adding the Qatari government and people will never forget Iran’s stance in times of hardship and crisis.

The meetings between the Qatari emir and Iran’s president show the two governments’ willingness to develop bilateral relations in different fields. - Shana
