Iran’s industry, mine and trade minister maintained that Iran has the capacity to fivefold its copper exports in the next five years, raising its current US$1.7 billion figure to US$10 billion. Reza Fatemi-Amin stated that the country currently produces about 280,000 tons of copper cathodes, adding that the ministry intends to increase it to over one million tons, which requires an investment of US$15 billion. – Iran Daily
