1st Direct Shipping Line from China to Iran's Chabahar Launched

Managing Director of the Chabahar Free Trade-Industrial Zone, Amir Moghaddam announced that the first ocean liner from China docked at Chabahar port.

“The first ocean liner from China entered Chabahar port directly and docked here. The unloading of this ship will begin today. It is the first direct shipping line from China to Chabahar. Previously, Chinese ships were unloaded in Bandar Abbas and their cargo was transferred to Chabahar by smaller ships,” Moghaddam said in an interview with ISNA.

“With launching this direct shipping line, US$400 will be saved in each container in unloading and loading costs, and the cargo will reach the owner 10 days earlier,” he added while announcing that the capacity of this ship is 6500 containers. Moghadam stressed that this will have a significant impact on the development of transit, which is one of the main advantages of Chabahar. – ISNA
