Tehran is exporting 250 million tons of foodstuff and agricultural products to Qatar each day during the 2022 World Cup, an Iranian official announced on Sunday.The Iranian products, some cargos of which have already been sent to Qatar, are dispatched to the neighboring states under the agreement between the two countries, Head of Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) of Iran Ali Reza Peyman Pak said.Grounds for implementation of such an agreement were prepared during the recent participation of the TPO in an exhibition in Doha, he added. The official went on to state that promotion of trade with the neighboring countries is among the main approaches of the current Iranian government.Good agreements have been reached and necessary orders have been issued during the visit of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to Doha and the travel of Qatari emir to Tehran, he underscored. Qatar has highly lowered tariff for the Iranian businesspersons on re-exports, he underlined.The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is to kick off on Sunday by a match between the host country and Ecuador. The Iranian team has been drawn into Group B of the tournament, alongside England, Wales and the USA. The Raisi administration has made ties with neighbors a top priority of its foreign policy. Iran and Qatar have significantly expanded bilateral cooperation in recent years, especially in trade and commerce. Tehran and Doha have recently grown exchange of visits by officials to speed up expansion of relations.Heading a high-ranking political-economic delegation, Sheikh Tamim visited Tehran in mid-May and held talks with Iranian authorities, including President Raisi to further broadening the two nations' relations and cooperation in different fields. The Qatari Emir's visit to Iran came three months after the two Persian Gulf neighbors signed a series of bilateral agreements during Raisi's visit to Doha. Recently, Iran has voiced its preparedness to provide Qatar with whatever assistance it needs to better and more magnificently host the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which is scheduled to take place from November 20 to December 18 this year in the Persian Gulf kingdom. - Fars
