Qatari Milaha Joins FTSE Russell Large Cap Indices, Ooredoo Gets Reclassified


FTSE Russell announced the results of the Semi-Annual Review of emerging market indices, which included the inclusion of a new Qatari company listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) and the reclassification of another company in these indices.

According to a statement from the official website of QSE, the Semi-Annual Review witnessed the inclusion of Qatar Navigation (Milaha) in FTSE Russell Large Cap Indices and the reclassification of Ooredoo from FTSE Russell Large Cap Segment to Mid Cap Segment. The results of the review are scheduled to take effect on September 15.

The FTSE Emerging Index is one of the indicators affiliated with the FTSE global indices and funds that primarily target emerging market exchanges.

This Index is important to international funds and portfolios because of the major investments it holds for the largest international banks and companies. This Index is also followed by many European, British and international investment funds and portfolios.
