President Raisi Calls for Development of Iran's Knowledge-Based Firms

Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi described development of knowledge-based economy as a priority, and emphasized that quantitative and qualitative growth of such firms is on his government's agenda. The Iranian president made the remarks during an inspection visit to the Pardis Science and Technology Park located in the Pardis town near Tehran on Tuesday. During the visit, President Raisi unveiled five knowledge-based pharmaceutical products developed by domestic Iranian companies. He described the development of knowledge-based economy as one of the country's priorities in the path of growth and development and emphasized on the quantitative and qualitative development of the complex.

Recalling the emphasis of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on the development of knowledge-based production in his message on the occasion on Norouz to name the new Iranian year of 1401 earlier this month, the President called the position of science and technology parks in the realization of this naming important and called on all actors of the knowledge-based ecosystem to play an active role.

The President also visited various departments of Bio-Fermentation Pharmaceutical Company and the quality control laboratory of probiotic products and pharmaceutical supplements.
In a relevant development earlier in March, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei addressed the nation on the eve of the Persian New Year (Nowruz), stressing the need for increasing efforts to strengthen knowledge-based production and create more jobs.

Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks in a televised message to the nation on the occasion of the Persian New Year. The Leader reemphasized the importance of boosting domestic production, as he had done in past years, saying the reason he placed so much emphasis on production was “because it boosts economic growth, it creates employment, it reduces inflation, it increases per capita income and it improves public welfare”. “Furthermore, it also brings about psychological effects since it boosts national self-confidence and creates a sense of dignity in the nation. Production is such an elixir. National production is this important if it is carried out in the best possible way, God willing.” Ayatollah Khamenei also designated the new Iranian calendar year of 1401 as the year of “Production: Knowledge-Based and Job-Creating”. - Fars
