Petchem Output at Iran's Mahshahr Region to Increase by Yearend


The managing director of the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone Organization announced a US$1-billion investment in Mahshahr region for the construction of infrastructures and said: "With the plans made, the production of petrochemicals in this region will reach 19 million tons by 20 March."

Omid Shahidinia stated: "Our most important task in this region is to provide the ground for investment and energy management."

He said 26 million tons of the current 90 million tons of the country's petrochemical production capacity belong to Mahshahr petrochemical complexes.

He pointed to the diversity of products supplied in active petrochemical plants in the Mahshahr region, and said: "Currently, about US$7 billion worth of new projects are underway in the region, which will create more than 4,800 new jobs." - Shana
