Decline in Egypt’s Unemployment Rate

Egypt’s unemployment rate fell to 7.4 % of the labor force in the fourth quarter of last year, edging down by 0.1 % compared to the previous three months. Some 29.7 million people were in work in the final quarter of 2021, up by 0.9 %, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics.

The number of unemployed is estimated at 2.2 million people - 7.4 % of the total labor force, the country’s statistics agency reported.
