Global HSE 2022 to be Held in Oman

Oman will host a global health, safety and environment (HSE) conference and exhibition in February. Global HSE 2022 will be held under the patronage of H E Dr Mohammed bin Hamad al Rumhy, Minister of Energy and Minerals, and hosted by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, Petroleum Development Oman, Saudi Aramco, OQ and OPAL.

Scheduled from February 13 to 16 at Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre (OCEC), this is the eight edition of Global HSE being held under the theme of HSE Excellence – Leadership, Sustainability and Technology.

Addressing a press conference at Sheraton Oman Hotel, Dr Hisham al Siyabi, exploration director at PDO and chairman of Global HSE 2022, said, “Guided by the sultanate’s Vision 2040, the conference will stress the importance of health, safety and environment for the development of human capital and its impact on economic and social development aligned with the industrial modernization and production efficiency in Oman.”

He added that the conference also aims to provide a network platform for energy professionals to exchange ideas on the various challenges of health and safety in the oil and gas industry. “Multi-national participation from industry people will surely enhance the work flow of our fraternity.”

The conference will have more than 100 expert speakers in the field of HSE and is expected to welcome over 1,500 participants from 25 countries. In addition to the conference, an accompanying exhibition will be held with more than 50 local, regional and international organizations showcasing the latest technologies and expertise related to safety, health and environment, including devices, equipment and modern system applications.

Zainab Ali al Saadi, director of HSE in the Ministry of Energy and Minerals and steering committee of the conference, said, “Participants will have the opportunity to network and meet a large number of global companies participating in this event from all around the world.”

The conference will include keynote addresses, panel discussions, technical sessions and workshops that will address several important topics, including Process Safety Management, International HSE Management Standards, Pandemic Risk and Response Management.
