Share of CNG in Iran's Fuel Mix to Increase: Official

Research and technology manager of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) voiced an increase in the share of CNG in the fuel mix of vehicles to 30% by 2025.

According to ISNA, Reza Kazemnejad underlined the importance of signing a contract for production of 45,000 dual-fuel cars, taxis and vans between NIORDC and Iran Khodro, adding: "This was an important step in the production of dual-fuel cars in the 13th administration which took place for the first time.”

If the groundwork is laid, conclusion of such contracts will be a priority of NIORDC's plans to accelerate production of and conversion to dual-fuel vehicles with the support of the company.

He added: "Currently, the share of CNG in the country's fuel mix is 21.2%, equivalent to 22.4 Mcm of CNG per day, which is set to increase to 30% by 2025.” - Shana
