Iran’s two major coal production firms produced a total of 52,973 tons of coal concentrates during March 21-April 20, indicating a 12% rise compared to corresponding figure of preceding year which was 47,111 tons, according to statistics by the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO). The Tabas Parvaneh Coal Company and the Central Alborz Coal Company extracted 123,772 tons of coal during the month under review, registering 20% of increase compared to the related figure the previous year, IRNA reported.The two companies delivered about 72,301 tons of coal concentrates to their customers during the month under review to register a 43% rise year on year. Iranian coal mines, with about 1.15 billion tons of reserves, have the capacity to produce up to three million tons of coal concentrates annually. According to IMIDRO, Iran produced 715,830 tons of coal concentrate during the year to March 20, 2021. The figures show that the Tabas Parvaneh Coal Company produced 616,159 tons of coal concentrate during the 12-month period and the output of the Central Alborz Coal Company stood at 99,671 tons. - Iran Daily
