Abu Dhabi-Bahrain Non-Oil Trade Reflects Strong Ties


The General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs has announced that the volume of non-oil trade exchange between Abu Dhabi and Bahrain through the emirate's ports amounted to AED41.83 billion (US$11.389 billion) during the period from 2015 to November, thus reflecting the strong economic and trade relations between the two countries.

Its imports hit AED9.11 billion (US$2.480 billion), while exports stood at AED11.32 billion (US$3.082 billion), and re-exports at AED 21.40 billion (US$5.826 billion), through 107.7 thousand customs transactions/dealings between he two countries during the same period.

The machines, audio and video recording equipment and their accessories accounted for the largest share of the total trade between the two, followed by ordinary metals and their products, and then came chemical or related industries, said Abu Dhabi Customs in its statement released on the eve of Bahrain National Day. Textile products and their manufactures came fourth followed by metal products.

Abu Dhabi’s trade with Bahrain during the first 11 months of the year stood at AED3.83 billion (US$1.042 billion), with imports hitting AED1.22 billion (US$332.172 million), exports at AED1.15 billion (US$313.133 million) and re-exports worth AED1.46 billion (US$397.517 million), it added.
