Sanalla, British Envoy Discuss Return of UK Firms to Libya


On Tuesday, December 8, 2020, from the headquarters of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Eng. Mustafa Sanalla, held a virtual closed-circuit meeting with the British Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Libya, Mr. Damian Moore.

During the meeting, the means of economic and trade cooperation between the two sides were discussed strengthening, also the return of British companies specialized in oil and energy field to work in Libya, and the opening of new prospects for investments, which was confirmed by trade envoy Mr. Moore during the meeting, where he explained that Britain is seriously seeking to establish new economic and trade partnerships with several countries, including Libya, which has excellent relations with it, in addition, Mr. Moore expressed his happiness that NOC is seeking to expand its investment base through cooperation with the British side.

For his part, Eng Sanalla thanked and appreciated the trade envoy for the support provided by the United Kingdom to the NOC and its support to Libya, pointing out that the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation is determined to expand the partnership base with the British side in the field of energy, by using the great expertise of British companies in the oil and technology industry and bringing it to the Libyan oil sector.

Cooperation in the field of training and human resources was also discussed, in order to build capacity and develop Libyan cadres in the oil and gas sector in British universities, centers and institutes.
