Iran Raises Oil Output Capacity in H1

The drilling performance of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) in the first half of the current year (20 March - 21 September) more than doubled in comparison with the same period last year (March 2019-20).

According to IOOC, Ali Khajavi, the technical affairs manager at IOOC, said: "Despite the fact that the number of rigs increase only by 11% year-on-year in the first half of the calendar year, the number of drilling operations by IOOC grew over two times in the period and crude oil production capacity from the fields operated by IOOC rose over 29,000 barrels per day.”

He said the company carried out re-drilling operations in 4 wells, 26 workover operations, and 4 plugging and abandonment operations during the period. In other words, 75% of the obligatory plan in the drilling sector was realized. In addition, the total obligatory plan was realized by 117%, Khajavi concluded. - Shana, IRNA
