Spokesman of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said that 13 points on the border is open for trading. However, most of Iran’s trading activities are done via sea., he added.He informed that Pakistan opened its borders and allowed Iranian trucks to transport and unload their goods in the country this morning. With permitting entry of 12 Iranian trucks to Pakistan’s Taftan Customs, transit process of Iranian trucks to Pakistan has been resumed on Mar 07 after some days of hiatus.After necessary controls on goods and truck drivers, Pakistan will allow entry of other 12 Iranian trucks to this country and this procedure trend will be continued, he emphasized. Latifi added, “talks are underway with Pakistani officials for accelerating transit of Iranian trucks to Pakistan.”In related news, Iranian president’s chief of staff Mahmoud Vaezi in a phone conversation with Turkish Minister of Customs and Trade Ruhsar Pekcan reached an agreement on facilitation of commutes of Iranian trucks at Turkey’s joint borders with its neighbors. Pekcan told Vaezi that he has issued an order in this regard and commute problems of Iranian trucks at Turkey’s joint borders with Bulgaria, Greece and Georgia have been resolved. The two sides also agreed on the preparation of a healthcare protocol and its urgent finalization to guarantee the transit of Iranian trucks in the long-run.
