Prime Minister Abdelaziz Djerad on Thursday said that the creation of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) was intended to enable "the African countries to rely on their potentials and capacities to help Africa emerge from underdevelopment circle.""The purpose of launching the NEPAD was to enable the African countries to rely, first an above all, on their potentials and capacities to end their under-development, eliminate their exclusion and encourage their contribution to the international economic exchanges,” the Premier said in an address to a high-level conference marking the celebration of the 20th anniversary of NEPAD creation.The Prime Minister represented President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in this conference.“It is necessary to resolve the structuring problems resulting from the heavy colonial legacy and reconsider the national and regional policies which are often plagued by poor capacities of management and by the negative impacts of world economic environment," added Djerad.The Premier also cited Algeria’s efforts in the process of the promotion of Africa development."Based on its firm conviction of the need to consolidate the continental integration process in Africa, Algeria has rapidly adopted a regional approach, both on national and regional infrastructure projects, with a view to effectively and concretely supporting the trend of complementarity and integration in Africa. ”
